Inspire and activate
Joyce de Ruiter is a sought-after inspiring keynote speaker in the areas of agility, resilience, change, leadership, Care Strength, diversity and inclusion.
Joyce is an authority in the field of agility resilience in times of change, diversity and inclusion. As an inspiring speaker, she is frequently praised when it comes to these themes. During her keynotes and webinars, she shares her beautiful life story and personal insights combined with the psychology of change. Always in a surprising way, with a touch of humor but also with the intention to inspire and activate (care) professionals, managers, entrepreneurs and their employees.
With these keynotes, Joyce has already successfully taken the stage at hundreds of venues:

Change is inevitable, in your work and personal life. The question is: do you let yourself be led by fear or do you take the initiative? Joyce shows how change can actually be the breeding ground for growth.
Due to her progressive hearing and vision loss, she herself lives in a continuous process of change. In her keynote, she takes you along in her personal story and lets you look at change through different lenses. She connects practice with psychology and provides insights to develop an agile mindset, so you can turn challenges from threats into opportunities.
The keynote is suitable for offline events, with an audience in the venue.
Diversity and inclusion (D) are often seen as obligations, but they actually enrich your organization. Many companies are more diverse than they think, but don’t know this about each other, making it difficult to harness the value of that diversity.
Joyce’s keynote ‘From tunnel vision to bubbles’ breaks through the stereotypical approach to D She demonstrates how recognizing differences enriches your organization and how you can take action for a more inclusive culture.
Are you a leader or a sufferer? In the keynote Agile Leadership, speaker Joyce shows how to use change as a force. With her personal story and experience in change management, she inspires leaders and professionals in all sectors to be agile themselves and take their team along. Always with the guiding principle: practice what you preach.
From her personal experience with Usher syndrome and her work, she holds up a powerful mirror to organizations. As an Agile Leadership speaker, she brings insight, energy and practical tools for those who really want to make a difference in times of change.
In a healthcare system that is becoming increasingly complex, the pressure on healthcare professionals is increasing. How do you remain valuable when rules, time pressure and staff shortages are your daily reality? The Care Strength keynote by speaker Joyce shows that there is room for meaningful care precisely within those boundaries. This lecture is intended for healthcare professionals in hospitals, mental health care, elderly care, neighborhood teams, general practice centers and other healthcare organizations, in other words, everyone who works with and for people.
Joyce knows better than anyone what it means to live with limitations. From her personal experience with Usher syndrome and her sharp observations in healthcare practice, she offers an inspiring and confronting mirror. Care Strength touches, encourages reflection and provides concrete tools to work with renewed energy and humanity. As a Care Strength speaker, she makes healthcare providers look with new eyes at what is possible.
In her book Not Hearing Not Seeing Not Silent, Joyce has included various song lyrics that mean a lot to her and beautifully connect to her story.
With “The Sound of Silence”, Joyce’s keynote “Leading in Change” is alternated with fragments of these songs sung by Hiske Bongaarts under musical accompaniment by Kas Lambers.
Impact, experience and goosebumps guaranteed!

SMO Traverse
“I had heard Joyce speak at a symposium before and I was so impressed, I thought, I want everyone to hear this, to feel this.”
After her keynote “Leading in Change”, Joyce as an inspiring speaker asks the audience a number of questions through which they translate the lessons from her story even more concretely to their own situation and role. Think of questions such as: reflecting on the attitude you yourself have previously adopted during a change, what difference you really want to make within 1-2 years, how you want to achieve this concretely and what help you need. The answers to these questions are noted on a card that was placed under the chairs prior to her keynote.
This enriching insight can be directly and easily applied in practice, both at work and privately. An absolute must when you want even more depth for the audience!

Team Leader | Aegon
“Joyce hit exactly the right note. Strong story, impressive how she managed to engage a large group. The personal assignment gave extra impact and made the session even more relevant.”
This is also a beautiful addition that Joyce offers as an inspiring speaker. During this leadership session, the questions Joyce asks after her keynote are developed into a script. Then everyone in the audience makes a video of this with their own mobile phone.
The advantage of a video is that it’s easy to watch back and doesn’t end up as a piece of paper in a drawer. The video may last a maximum of 2 minutes, forcing you to formulate clearly and concisely. Then a number of these videos are shown in plenary and discussed with the room, and Joyce as discussion leader will make the connection between colleagues.

Program Manager | ABN Amro Bank
“Joyce touched 300 leaders with flair, pace and a deeply personal story about agility. Her message encourages different thinking and action. A speaker with real impact.”
Another option is that the video assignment is prepared by a number of colleague “s prior to the meeting. During the event, after the keynote, the video” s are shown on stage in a talk show setting and discussed under Joyce’s guidance.
The talk show works well as a kick-off by key figures in the organization. After this, the underlying management teams and teams can possibly do the same assignment with each other during a ‘follow-up day’ in sub-sessions.

Total minimum 1.5 hours, consisting of:

Event Manager | Ministry of Finance
“Joyce shares her story with visible pleasure. Realistic, powerful and to the point. She really knows how to touch, evokes reflection and makes your event distinctive. Lasting and inspiring!”

Increase the impact and appreciation of the meeting by giving the invitees a copy of the book Not Hearing Not Seeing Not Silent afterwards.
The proceeds from this book are donated to Usher Syndrome Foundation. This way you give both a nice gift and contribute to the good cause.
